AWANA
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
That's what AWANA stands for. Here at Immanuel Baptist, we are committed to this statement. Our ministry was started here over 20 years ago and continues to be a vital part of this church. The AWANA key verse is John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Our goal here at Immanuel is to reach as many boys and girls with the gospel as possible. Our night consists of three main segments which are the same for all the clubs. We have a game time in our gym where the kids are divided up into 4 color groups - red, blue, green, and yellow. They are taught the importance of following rules and working as a team. There is a handbook time where the clubbers go over Scripture verses they have learned and recite them back to a leader in their class. There is a third section called council time. This is where a gospel message is presented in a manor appropriate to the age group. Over the years there have been dozens of kids ask Jesus to be their Savior and through that, God has led many family members also to Him through the children. We have a lot of fun here on Wednesday nights and wish to spread that joy to as many as possible.
Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
We also run a bus ministry for AWANA on Wednesday nights that enables 20-35 children from local neighborhoods to attend our AWANA club.
Mr Jamey Brandt is our AWANA Commander for the 2011-2012 club year.
